Rejuran Injectable Skin Treatment
Rejuran skin treatment is an injectable treatment that aims to support skin repair, improve skin tone and support overall skin quality. At Evolve Skin Clinic in Bulleen, it is personally administered by Dr Namrata Anavekar FRACS, Specialist Plastic Surgeon, after a consultation.
How does it work?
Rejuran, or polynucleotides, are DNA fragments commonly purified from salmon. They are injected in tiny amounts into the skin, where they're intended to support the skin's natural repair processes. The treatment works on skin quality rather than adding volume.
What areas can be treated?
Typically Rejuran Classic is administered to the face and/or neck areas. Rejuran i is specifically formulated to be administered to the eye area.
Who may be suitable?
It may suit people concerned about dull, dehydrated or finely lined skin, or skin that's lost some of its thickness. It isn't suitable for everyone. For example, it's not recommended if you have a fish or salmon allergy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have active skin infection in the area. We'll review your medical history at your consultation.
What does a treatment involve?
A session takes about 30–45 minutes. Treatment is usually given as a course of 2 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart, with maintenance sessions recommended every 6–12 months depending on your skin concerns.
Recovery and downtime
Small raised bumps at the injection points are common and usually settle within 24–48 hours. Redness, swelling and bruising can also occur. Most people return to normal activities the same day.
Results vary between individuals and develop gradually over the course of treatment.
Risks
Risks include bruising, swelling, tenderness, infection, lumps and allergic reaction. As with any injectable, rare serious complications are possible. We'll explain these at your consultation.
Frequently asked questions
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream can be applied first. If this is your preference, we need to know in advance to allow time in your appointment. Most people feel a stinging sensation during the injections and don't use numbing cream.
How is this different from dermal filler?
Filler adds volume to shape an area. Rejuran (polynucleotide) treatment aims to improve the quality of the skin itself and doesn't add volume.
How long do results last?
It varies between people. We'll recommend a maintenance schedule linked to your goals.
What does it cost?
Rejuran Classic costs $800 (incl GST) for a single dose or $1,500 (incl GST) for 2 doses. 1 dose treats either the face or neck area. Rejuran i is $650 (incl GST) for 1 dose or $1,200 (incl GST) for 2 doses. 1 dose of Rejuran i treats both eyes.
