Skin Clinic Treatments
Medical-grade skin treatments in a surgeon-led clinic, from injectables with Dr Namrata Anavekar FRACS to laser, peels and facials with our Dermal Clinicians.
Why a medical skin clinic
Skin treatments are widely available, and the quality of assessment behind them varies considerably. Being part of a specialist plastic surgery practice changes a few things:
- Honest assessment. If a concern would be better addressed surgically, or not treated at all, you will be told that rather than sold a course of treatments.
- Continuity with surgical care. Skin treatment before or after surgery can be planned together, with appropriate timing around healing.
- Medical oversight. Treatments are delivered within a medical practice with a FRACS specialist plastic surgeon regularly on site.
- Realistic expectations. Skin treatments improve quality and texture over time. They do not lift descended tissue, and no treatment is a substitute for surgery where surgery is what is needed. Either way you will get an honest opinion based on your personal goals.
Surgery and skin treatment do different things. If sagging or excess skin is your main concern, a surgical consultation is the right starting point. If your concern is skin quality, texture, pigmentation or hydration, the skin clinic is where to begin. Many patients benefit from both.
What to expect
An assessment of your skin, your concerns and your history, including any previous treatments and current skincare.
A recommended approach with realistic timeframes, expected number of treatments, and costs set out clearly beforehand.
Delivered by our Dermal Clinician or Dr Anavekar for injectables, with aftercare instructions appropriate to the treatment.
Follow-up to assess response and adjust the plan. Most skin treatments work gradually rather than immediately.
Suitability depends on your skin, medical history and any medications. Some treatments are not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or alongside certain conditions — this is assessed at consultation.
